SUMMER ACADEMIC UPDATE:
Charles Bernstein will be teaching a film music seminar at UCLA Extension starting July 9th (for info: 310-825-9971 and reference Reg#: T8839); He will also be guest lecturing for University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and will be offering a course in the History of Film Music through the Berklee Collge of Music this Fall.

NEW VIDEO CLIP:
Here is a new video clip of Charles conducting music from "Sweet Nothing in My Ear" at Capitol Studios. (DVD available from Hallmark Hall of Fame).

NEW CDs:
Scores by Charles Bernstein for "Shattered," an indie film by director Joe Rassulo, and "Refusenik," a theatrical documentary by Laura Bialis (currently playing in theaters across the country), will be available on CD this Spring. (Check this sight for details).

A much-requested CD of the vintage Charles Bernstein score for the Walter Mirish Production "Mr. Majestyk" is currently in preparation.

--SPRING UPDATE:
"Sweet Nothing in My Ear" from Hallmark Hall of Fame this Spring with music composed and conducted by Charles Bernstein. The 2-hour movie stars Oscar winning actress Marlee Matlin and acclaimed actor Jeff Daniels. It was directed by Joseph Sargent and produced by Marian Rees, Anne Hopkins and Brent Shields.

"Refusenik" will be playing in theaters across the country this Spring. The feature-length documentary, directed by Laura Bialis with music by Charles Bernstein, examines the plight of Soviet Jews in the Refusenik era and includes facinating interviews with Mikel Gorbachev and the son of Nikita Khrushchev.

January 2008

--Three new DVDs recently released with music by Charles Bernstein: Stephen King's "CUJO" (includes on-camera interview with the composer); "A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET" HD-DVD EDITION with surround sound (also includes interview with composer); and the recent Sundance Festival Award Winner, "AFTER INNOCENCE."

Charles Bernstein was just elected Vice President of the Motion Picture Academy, a position he shares with Actor Tom Hanks.
